The Freddo Index

I get lots of emails dropping into my inbox every day but when Vouchercloud emailed me about ‘The Freddo Index’, the companies tongue in cheek look into how old favourites like Freddos, Mars bars, Cinema tickets and comics have risen excessively since 2000, I thought it was worth investigating.

I was right! The ‘Freddo Index’ is an interesting read and the results are shocking. Not only are we paying inflation-busting prices for some of our favourite products, they’re shrinking too!

Take the humble Freddo. It was my ‘go to’ chockie treat for the girls when they wanted something from the sweet shop. It only cost 10p and at 20g it wasn’t going to ruin their appetite: win, win!  However, since 2000, the Cadbury’s Freddo has increased in price from 10p to 25p, whilst at the same time it has decreased in weight from 20g to 18g! It’s a double whammy! The nerve!
