If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll remember me telling you we needed to do something with the blank wall in our living room. Two years on and we can finally display our favourite photos, pictures and prints on a gallery wall, thanks to Ikea Mosslanda picture ledges.
At last, I can officially share some exciting news! Jules Yap, founder of the highly successful website IkeaHackers.net, has published a book of 25 biggest & best Ikea Hacks & my Ikea Hack Cabin bed with secret den is featured!
I first shared our step-by-step guide to building an Ikea Hack children’s cabin bed and secret den for Youngest back in 2016. Yet, more than a year later, it’s still my most popular post. This week her ‘before’ and ‘after’ bedroom transformation is featured on the successful US lifestyle and interiors website, Apartment Therapy.
Emily’s desk is relatively small so I wanted to maximise her desk space & organise her accessories. I used inexpensive Bygel containers from Ikea to make a DIY ‘Ikea hack’ desk tidy.

In the second part of the series I’ll describe how we completed the look with carefully chosen accessories, artwork and soft furnishings.
After the expense of a new kitchen extension, we needed to turn our old dining room into the study of our dreams, on a budget and in a hurry, without compromising on the style and the finish. Simples!
