Money-saving tips for busy people.

I was delighted when Tesco Bank invited me to collaborate with them. Their aim is to provide useful advice about budgeting and savings on the Tesco Bank website.
The folk at Tesco Bank recognise that although most of us would like to be more financially savvy, we lead busy lives. That’s why they asked me to share some of my favourite money-saving tips. The tips are designed to be quick and easy to implement, so even those with hectic lives can aim to cut costs, all the while saving time for the things that matter, like making memories with family and friends.
Life is busy.
How often do you find yourself thinking ‘There aren’t enough hours in the day’ or wishing you had more time?
Unfortunately, it’s easy for some of the most important tasks, like sorting out finances and managing the household budget, to get sidelined. There are often so many other urgent jobs clamouring for our attention, especially if you’re juggling a job and parenting.
Stop the clock! I’ve found the clue!
Do you remember Treasure Hunt, the popular 1980s TV series? In the show, the contestants took part in a real-life treasure hunt somewhere in the UK where they had to solve cryptic clues to a location. Once the contestants solved the clue, they relayed it to a jumpsuit-clad Anneka Rice, who’d then have to run, drive or fly to that location to collect the next clue before her time ran out.
As a busy working mum, I can’t help feeling I’m taking part in a high octane version of Treasure Hunt. Only in my version, I’m racing against the clock to achieve everything on my weekly ‘to do’ list, whilst attempting to pick up and drop off my two ‘treasures’ at different times and from half a dozen different locations. Consequently, ‘No child left behind’, is an aspirational goal I set myself at the start of each school term, and I’m proud to say I (mostly) achieve it!
My money-saving tips.
When life is so busy, finding time to review my household budget and reduce spending can be a challenge. However, over the years I’ve found ways to save hundreds of pounds with minimal additional time and effort.
If you want to manage your budget more effectively, but there aren’t enough hours in the day, why not check out my money-saving tips on the Tesco Bank website?
The tips are designed to be quick and easy to follow and have the potential to save you hundreds of pounds by cutting the cost of utilities, online and high street purchases and much more. I’ll tell you how to get a better deal on your gas and electricity and how you can make money when you shop online by using cashback websites.
Even if you only manage to set aside 10-15 minutes a week, you’ll still have time to tackle one or two of my tips and start saving money. Alternatively, set your alarm clock ten minutes earlier so you can work your way through the list over a couple of weeks. After all, if it helps you save hundreds of pounds and gives you a bit of financial breathing space, isn’t it worth losing out on a few extra minutes in bed?
