If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll remember me telling you we needed to do something with the blank wall in our living room. Two years on and we can finally display our favourite photos, pictures and prints on a gallery wall, thanks to Ikea Mosslanda picture ledges.
Creative Inspirations: ‘Sophia & Matt’, designers of handbags, wash bags & more, Part 2. Plus giveaway.
Creative Inspirations is back and I’m delighted to introduce you to my favourite designers, Sophia & Matt. In fact, there’s so much to tell you about this talented duo that there are two parts! In Part 1, I tell you how I first discovered their beautiful bags & accessories and Sophia explains how the company grew from its humble market stall beginnings in 2005.
In part 2 of my ‘Creative Inspirations’ series, where I showcase artists and creatives that inspire me, I interview Sam Baker, mother of the incredibly talented Chris Baker, the 21-year-old Cardiff artist living with Aspergers whose drawings are so realistic they are often mistaken for photographs.
So when I showed her the wonderfully original Totoro portrait by Mike Matola, one of the artists on my ‘Wall art wish list’ for my blank living room wall, she loved it. So much so, she even dusted off her money box (Shock! Horror!), and put her money where her mouth is, asking me to order it from Mike’s Etsy store, LineByLinePosters.
We need to do something with the blank wall in our living room. There are so many options for filling the space: framed prints & canvases; gallery walls; personalised wallpaper; photographs; objects or handmade crafts & prints. So as I go through the decision-making process I thought I would share some of my ideas. In the first part of my series I look at Wonderful Wall art and tell you which 5 artists are on my wish list.
