So how did our Ikea Hack Children’s bedroom makeover turn out? Was it a triumph or a disaster? Did it all go smoothly or did we have any DIY disasters along the way? Most importantly, what did our daughter think about the final result? It’s time to find out!
In Part 1 of this two part series I take you through the design, planning and inspiration for our youngest daughter’s bedroom makeover. The brief: Maximise space, maximise storage (hide clutter!), and last her into her teens.
In part 1 of ‘Dining room to den’ I described how we turned our old dining room into our perfect study / home office by customising an Ikea kitchen worktop and storage units. In the second part of the series I’ll describe how we completed the look with carefully chosen accessories, artwork and soft furnishings.
After the expense of a new kitchen extension, we needed to turn our old dining room into the study of our dreams, on a budget and in a hurry, without compromising on the style and the finish. Simples!
Waste not, want not! The wind and rain may have kept us indoors today but we have had a lovely afternoon recycling and reusing Christmas cards and paper.
